Hey everyone,
It took us a while to finally get an update to everyone after we arrived in Thailand. Then, just a few days later, God changed our plans. Such is life sometimes when we follow the Spirit of God. “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)
We’ve sought the voice of God, the counsel of others and came to a unified decision as a family. Our YWAM base has gone through a tough year. We’ve had some unfortunate turn of events and people have responded to those events in different ways. In this season we believe that as the base leaders we need to remain here and provide a stable presence to build together upon. God has a special plan for us here at this time and we want to follow that plan.
This decision was not easy because we haven’t seen some family and friends for a LONG, LONG time, especially our family in South America. We were so excited about going to Chile because ALL of Cy’s family now live there, including her parents, brother, sister and the nieces and nephews. It has been almost 4 years since we saw them and we were longing to connect with them again.
One idea that we have is to try to raise the finances to bring Cy’s parents to us for a couple of months. The plane tickets alone are $5,000USD (literally from one side of the globe to the other). We’re praying that God would give us this opportunity to have them with us. It would be the first time someone from Cy’s family would travel out to Asia to spend time with us. If you would be interested in helping this dream come true for both Cy’s parents and ourselves, please click here for information on how to give.
Please pray for us in this time because we have a lot of work to do in God’s kingdom among us at the base. We’re hopeful, but also realize the task is great. If the Holy Spirit puts a word of encouragement or a Bible verse on your heart, please share it with us.
Thanks for your prayers, support and love.
